Privacy policy
One preference in your browser, aggregate search terms on our side, and no cookies at all.
TracedParts stores one thing in your browser: your currency preference. The site sets no cookies at all and there are no cross-site trackers. Two Google services load: the web font service, and Google Analytics with browser storage disabled, so it counts page views without recognising you between visits. Search terms are kept in aggregate to see which parts people look for, and are not tied to an individual visitor.
What we store in your browser
Your currency preference, kept in local storage so the site does not reset to MYR every visit, and any BOM you choose to save in the BOM tool. Both stay on this device and we cannot read them. A BOM file you open in the tool is read in your browser and is never uploaded.
What we log
Standard web server request logs, and the part numbers searched, in aggregate, so we know which parts to prioritise for data coverage. Search terms are not tied to an identity on this site.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies at all: none for advertising, none for analytics, none for anything else. Google Analytics runs here with browser storage switched off, which is why no consent banner appears: there is nothing to consent to. If that ever changes, this page changes first and a consent control appears before anything is set.
Third parties
Two, both Google. Fonts are served by Google Fonts, so Google receives the request for the font file. Google Analytics counts page views, with storage disabled so it cannot recognise you between visits or across sites; it records the page, the referrer, and an IP address that Google truncates on arrival. We use it to see which part pages are worth improving. Nothing else on the page loads from a third-party host, and no data about you is sold or shared with anyone else.
